The Duolingo English Test (DET) measures English language proficiency to study in countries where English is used as a primary language of communication. It is an accepted alternative to the IELTS and TOEFL, which are the most common academic English tests.
The DET is a computer-adaptive test that is designed to measure English language proficiency to study in countries where English is the primary language of communication. It includes four modules: Reading, Listening, Speaking and Writing, each with its own unique set of instructions.

| Adaptive Test – 45 mins | This comprises of all 4 language skills – listening, reading, writing, and speaking – which are evaluated based on a fixed algorithm. Test contents differ from candidate to candidate. |
